perks!

i'm beginning to feel the perks of being married to a near rockstar. wide eye panic was on the radio last week as in-studio guests, and got to meet all the radio personalities from the bj shea's morning show, as well as kyle cease. it was so wonderful for them to get to promote their new album live to seattle. all the members of the band who were there received two tickets apiece to see kyle cease and louie anderson at a fancy shmancy ballroom in bellevue. it was by far the fanciest place we've been as a married couple. i almost even took a picture. but forgot my camera. while we were waiting in line for the bar--since we got free tickets, we figured we could cough up the money for a glass of wine, which was by the way, more expensive than any bottle of wine i've bought--karl introduced me to bj shea from the radio, which was so exciting that i stumbled over all my words and turned red. clearly, i need more practice meeting people. and being in public. i'm a little out of my element when i have to ditch the bathrobe and pretend to be fancy. at least it was a comedy show and not an opera or ballet. i'm not against opera or ballet, but i'll definitely have to class it up a few notches before i'll be ready to be taken to one of those. anyway, it was great fun. a fantastic show. and i'm so glad karl and i go to have a date. here's a sweet photo mama rhondi took while madee helped me get ready.

out to lunch.

we went out to lunch today (which we pretty much never do) and found out that kids get to make their own pizza at the pizza place we went to. it was a super fun time. too bad karl's cell phone doesn't take better pictures though.

it's real. my husband's band is doing well. their album's official release date is February 16th, and it will be available in stores and online. totally cool. i'm completely in awe of these boys and the hard work they put in toward making their dreams come true. what an inspiration! go ahead and check them out!!

time is flying! it's completely blowing my mind. maximus is one!! i totally spaced on the camera though, and so photos of the boy (and girlie, too) will be coming soon. i hope everyone is doing well. i'm not even going to pretend that i'll post more regularly until i get my final paper for english

time flies!

wow! i can't believe it's been so long since i've posted. here's a quick(ish) update. christmas was great, would have been better if madelynn wasn't sick, but we still had a nice time with family, and the kiddos humored me by playing with their patchwork balloon balls (photos to come), knitted mittens, and of course, the stuff that santa brought.

maximus is walking! it's blowing my mind. he's also saying a few words already. he says 'hello', 'dog' and 'ball'. maybe it's not clear to everyone, but his mommy definitely knows what he's saying.

madelynn has started "preschool." it's actually daycare at the college i'm going to, but we say it's school. she likes it better that way. plus, she only goes for a couple of hours each day, so really it's more like preschool.

i'm going back to school... again! i forgot madelynn was even on the waiting list for the daycare, because it has been so long (a whole year!!) since i put her on it. when the college called to inform me, it was less than a week before the beginning of the quarter, but i decided to go with it and pretend like it was planned all along. i somehow managed to still get into the classes i wanted, with only a day to spare, so i figure it was meant to be.

karl's band has a tour scheduled (pretty much) for march, and we are full of anticipation for what kind of glorious events that might lead up to (i like to keep it optimistic). it's going to be a big change from the mr. mom role he's been playing around here lately. i'm am so happy and proud of him. it's so exciting to watch somebody that you love not only dream big, but also to have the balls to take a few leaps of faith and apply a lot of elbow grease in order to make those dreams come true.

next mission: attempt to make some little enough for maximus in time for christmas.
